- Rocha Magna
The Magna Fortress or Rocha Magna is the Castle of the hamlet of Palazzolo built between the 9th and 12th cent. It is made of four towers united by mighty walls surrounded by a wide moat. Three towers, named Mirabella, Ruellina and Porta di fuori, are round buildings aligned to the course of the river. The fourth tower, known as the Tower of Salvation is a foursquare building and it was employed as a dungeon; it had two entrances, both equipped with lift bridges: one facing the outside and named Rescue Threshold, the other one facing the inside of the Fortress named Shore Threshold. From the wide courtyard you can access the patrol paths and the subterrenian passages to the walls and towers.
