- Saint Stefano
The original Church of Saint Stephen, at the foot of Mount Orfano, is believed to have been built by Longobards in 700 a.c. . From its ancient origin the Church has kept only the positioning along the east-west axis, useful to the guard of the road leading to the Church of Saint Michele and to the rescue of the travellers passing on the roads to Milan and Franciacorta. Many visible traces are left instead of the following centuries: the half-round abse built with shingles, ashlars, bricks and mortar is the most ancient part of the Church and it dates back at least to the 11th century; inside, the Presbytery discloses frescos dating back to the 14th century.
