  • Naét

Naét is a dialect word of the Sebino area (Lake Iseo, province of Brescia and Bergamo) that identifies a typical tapered boat with a flat bottom that reminds, in its essential features, the gondola and other venetians boats, especially the "mascareta". It was anciently used - and up to the 20th century, as a fishing boat, first moved by rowing (Stand-up rowing) and subsequently, cutting the tail, powered by engine. Presently the Naét is not being employed as a fishing boat, as a matter of fact only a few seniors are keeping on using it as a fishing boat. Its most relevant present use is as a sports boat, with suitable adaptations, on which the conductors row in pairs standing up on it.
