DESCRIZIONE
In 1924 a Shrine Monument was built to testimony the ferocious fights that took place at the Tonale Pass where many italian and austrian-ungarian soldiers fell during WWI. It is open every day from May to October from 08.30 am to 6.30 pm. The entrance is free of charge. The Tonale Shrine has been built by Architect Pietro del Fabbro in 1936. The Monument is constituted by a big foursquare crypt. Behind an altar, in the middle of the crypt, there is a big marble statue, representing Christ Resurrected. The outside of the crypt is made by a semicircular buttress and by a terrace overlooking the crypt, where the base of the bronze statue of the Winged Victory has been located.
