The Rose of Baghdad is an animated film from 1949, directed and produced by Anton Gino Domeneghini. It's the first italian movie realized using Technicolor technique, and, according to someone, also the first european one. After watching Snow White and the seven dwarfs A. G. Domeneghini was very moved and thought that also Italy could produce an animated full-length film. Domeneghini, through his network of connections, managed to raise enough money to make this movie, which was also financed by the Ministry of Popular Culture. After the 1942 air-raids the IMA Film headquarters were partly destroyed and the production of the film was moved to Villa Fè and Secco in Bornato (Franciacorta area)
